Pupils from Years 1 and 2 at Rookesbury Park School visited Portsmouth Historic Dockyard for a fun filled day from exploring HMS Warrior and dressing up in traditional clothes to a workshop about Florence Nightingale. The children had a ball and a passer by complimented the children on their lovely behaviour and lively comments during the talks. Headmistress, Pippa Harris-Burland commented, 'Our children learn so much more from real hands-on experience of history. They saw how the sailors lived, they tried on the clothes they wore, and even sat at the sailors' dinner table. What a wonderful way to bring history alive for our children.'
